FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I book a trip?I prefer trips be booked by contacting me via e-mail at captainz@z-horse.com. If you do send me an e-mail, PLEASE put something in the subject line so I will know it's not one of the dozens of spam e-mails I receive on a daily basis. Trips can also be booked over the phone (850-228-6091). Back to Top
Is a deposit required & is it refundable?Although not required, a deposit in the amount of $100 is suggested in order to book a trip and guarantee your reservation. Deposit may be made by personal check or money order. The amount of the deposit will be subtracted from the final fee at the time of the charter. Deposits are fully refundable for cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of the charter. Cancellations made 3 to 6 days prior to the charter will result in forfeiture of 50% of the deposit, unless the charter can be rescheduled within 30 days. Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance of the charter will result in forfeiture of the entire deposit. Cancellations by the Captain due to unsafe weather conditions are subject to a full refund or rescheduling of the charter, at the client's option.
What do I need to bring? Most everything you will need for fishing is furnished. I provide rods & reels, bait, tackle, ice and your fishing license. You will need to bring whatever you want to eat and drink (no glass, please!) which we will transfer to the ice box on the boat. Along with any other beverages you may want to bring, I strongly suggest bringing plenty of water to help prevent dehydration. Wear Deck shoes or tennis shoes (no black soles, please!). - your feet will get wet before the day is over & shoes are a must. Other personal items: Hat; Long sleeved shirt; Sunblock; Polarized sunglasses; Rain gear; Chap stick; Camera; Any medications or other personal items. You are certainly welcome to bring your own fishing rods & reels if you would feel more comfortable fishing with your own gear. If you are prone to seasickness, make sure you take the necessary steps to avoid this malady which can ruin an otherwise great day. Back to Top
Can I bring alcoholic beverages?Beer is OK in moderation. Hard liquor is not allowed. Dehydration can be a problem without realizing it, and alcohol can be a contributing factor. Alcohol also tends to promote seasickness. (Once again - no glass containers!) Back to Top
Can I keep the fish I catch?Although I encourage live release of most fish, you are certainly welcome to keep any & all fish allowed by law. Back to Top
Will you clean the fish I catch?I will clean SOME of the fish you catch. I will clean & bag up to a limit of the following fish: Speckled trout, redfish, pompano, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, & flounder. Any others are subject to negotiation. Back to Top
